We knew it was going to happen sooner rather then later, but Penelope moved on to the next stage last night. She was a wonderful cat and will be missed a lot. We're a little teary this morning.
Thank you. She was a very polite kittie who loved to sit in laps and be petted. She was a feral cat that adopted us in 2004. She was full grown, so we assume she was a year old or so.
My heart goes out to you. Penelope had a good home, was loved and cared for and in return loved you and took care of you. She will never be forgotten but one day you will open home and heart to a whiskered friend again.

Getting adopted by a feral is quite an honor. Kitties have some sensitivities that are amazing. She knew where to go. God bless you and yours, losing a kitty is so sad but it's the way of the world.
What's sadder to me is when servant pre-deceases kitty. When we adopted Molly and River there were 12 cats at the shelter whose owners had both been killed in a car wreck. A very tragic scene all around.
Penelope is always with you, watching over you and grateful for the home you all had together.
^^^ What he "said." I lost a kitty most recently just over 3 years ago (my beloved Eini) and it STILL hurts tremendously when I think of him (but he was only 8).
OP, you and Penelope got 15 years with each other! I hope that your happy memories of her will help you over the years.
RIP, sweet Penelope.
