My neighbor's cat loves my backyard, probably to get some peace away from the two big dogs they also have. I don't mind that except it is using my garden as a potty. I don't know that much about cats and I don't want to hurt it, but I really want it to stop. Any suggestions?

Find some wild rosebushes, blackberry or other brambles with many thorns and place them around your plants where the cat goes. Here we don't have that problem, outdoor cats end up food for the coyotes.
This is a flower garden area, so I'm not going to plant brambles, lay chicken wire, or spread garbage bags in my yard. I would have Animal Control set a trap before I would do that...but I got some granules of combination fox and coyote urine. I spread a little of that in the area and I'll see how it works.

Please do post your results. I feed a neighborhood stray every night, a big tomcat that I call "Tommy" (real original, lol). Last night that big old booger had no sooner finished his dinner when he went right over to my nearest flower bed and squatted right in it! I called him a bad cat and he trotted off, but I was majorly ticked! What an ingrate!
