I usually just do 2 nails at a time, then he starts biting. He doesn't fight the vet at all, probably because he's too scared, but I don't take him to the vet just for the nails.

The only trouble I ever have with Lola is her left dew-claw, because I'm left-handed and it's hard to manipulate my own hands upside down and I have a lot of trouble holding the snipper in my right hand. Eventually I get it though.

She hates being trimmed but she also knows if she bites me, I'll bite her back. (yes, I really do. On her ear. No, I don't leave marks or draw blood.)

Nothing like a mouth full of kitty fur.

Perhaps we've lived with cats too long. Haven't started biting them yet, but I have had the urge to claw the furniture lately.

Going off subject here for a sec. When I was in college (before the internet), I was talking to one of my professors and informed him that I have been known as Catwoman (yes, I have had the name WAY before the internet-before Michelle Pffeifer-but not before Julie Newmarr). He then asked me, "Do you scratch or bite?" Without thinking I said, "Both." Then I realized WHO I said it to. He made a comment but I can't remember what he said.

Back on subject. Thanks everyone for all your advice. I haven't tried them out YET. I think I am trying to psych myself up before going into battle.

So today, I'm sitting at my computer (where I am sitting right now), and Luna jumps up on my lap and is purring and she falls asleep. She was sleeping there for I don't know how long-I would say probably close to an hour-hour & a half. I needed to get some things done but I didn't want to disturb her. She wasn't sleeping the entire time but was just cuddling, shifting positions and falling asleep. She woke up, shifted position. She purred most of the time. After ALL this time it FINALLY hit me, this would be a great time to TRY to get her claws. I keep clippers in the desk just for that purpose. Well, I think I managed to get 4 claws on one paw and only 1 on the other. At least it is something. If I thought about it sooner, I may have been able to sneak them in while she was sleeping-then again, maybe not. But at least SOME of them are clipped.

Administer kitty fave food and catnip
stalk the kitty when the kitty is asleep, if it fights you
add more catnip and treats
rub kitty where it like to be rubbed
let kitty sleep
do it when kitty is asleep.
Less bloodshed that way

I have cats not kids but
they are kinda the same they just sleep more

Hahahaha, I'm not the only one who will put my pet's (cat or dog) comfort before my own. Not wanting to disturb the pet so we remain lazy and/or uncomfortable......proof we are pet "parents."

No, no, no, wrong attitude. If you think this, you'll make it true. Like the medicine story that I'm still laughing over? And I see in your next post, it wasn't what you thought it would be.
