Cat fight at U.S. Embassy in Kabul - The Washington Post
In essence: 25 to 30 feral cats that have made their home on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy compound in Kabul, Afghanistan, may -- on the orders of senior embassy officers -- be exterminated as a public health threat unless they are adopted by the diplomatic staff stationed there and/or sent to the U.S. It's still uncertain what exactly what will happen to those cats left behind. It should be noted that a lot of embassy staffers are very unhappy with this policy and are working to save the cats.
