Hello. My cat was recently diagnosed with a UTI problem so I have switched his food from dry to wet. I have stuck with the same brand, Wellness, but the cost of the food is pretty high for the canned variety. It costs be about $15 a week to feed my cat and it is becoming unaffordable. I am already on a strict budget and only spend $60 a week for everything including food for myself and Oliver. I dont want to feed him anything junky but does anybody know a good quality wet food that is more affordable? Thanks!

I sympathize as I'm going on a much stricter budget next year.

I belive California Natural dry is the least expensive dry "premium" food. I'd check out their canned to see if it is less as well.

Do the usual, read the ingredients and check for ash levels, avoid grains and "meals" (ie Chicken Meal, Beef meal, etc) or at least make sure they aren't the first 3 ingredients. Find the ones you are the most comfortable with and compare prices.

One thing to keep in mind is that even a lesser band's canned is often (but not always) better than a "better" brand's dry because it is less processed.
