It's getting hard for me to deal with this, as I don't know what to do. My cat and dog loved each other, although my dog loved the cat way more than the other way around, I think.

Anyway, I had to put my beloved dog to sleep on Saturday. A few months ago we went through the same thing with my cat acting out, when my dog was in the hospital for three weeks.

I've tried to console my cat over my dog's death, but my cat is running around biting my ankles at this point. I am devastated over my dog's death as things stand, and the last thing I need is a cat who wants to bite me.

Help?

No, I didn't think about getting another cat. Why do I have to have any cat who bites me? My dog never bit me.

Poor kitty just misses her buddy. My Peeky nips and bites when she is separated from her sister; cats mourn differently than dogs. Just give her some time and she'll come around.

Forgive me for assuming, but it sounds like you're really not much of a cat person to start with. If that is indeed the case, you'd be better off adopting out Kitty.

That's how cats play, mock fighting. She is bored and lonely, get another dog or cat so she'll have company! Or play more, using cat toys.

Give kitty some time. If kitty is still having issues later on consult your vet. They have anti-depressants for cats. i have seen cats abandoned by their owners that had to be put on meds. Amitriptyline is one of them I believe. good luck.

Edit: I would also recommend what some of the above posters have suggested ie getting another dog or cat
