(long post-sorry) Having had Frankie grow up in my parents house with 5 other cats, he was a loner and not very loving or affectionate. As soon as I took him out of there, he turned into a total ham and is attached to my hip when not outside. When I briefly moved back down to Miami at a different location, he and the neighborhood cat, a male, seemed to bond and just lay around the yard together. Kinda just hang out. It was cool that he let another male on the property/house and would sleep just a few feet apart. (I wanted to steal squirrely cat but couldn't due to moving to an apartment first in NC before house purchased) So now here in CLT and he's loving life. My neighbors who I adore have a female indoor cat. Frankie and her have met outside when there was supervision and Frankie just laid there. No problems. I often find him looking into their side door window looking for her and laying on their front step looking into the same window (shes looking at him through window and vice versa). I have also caught him at the other neighbors house doing the same thing but they don't have a cat!! So I pre warned them to not be alarmed if they catch him looking in their window like a peeping Tom!! LOL !! SOOOO I'm wondering if he would like someone to hang out with?? I"m dying to get another cat and would go straight to Petsmart today to get one but am not sure if I should get a female or male. Any input??? TIA

Probably a female, I have always found a male/female combo to get along fine. But try a rescue group, save a life!

I have a 2 year old male and adopted a female kitten. They get along okay except she gets on his nerves. She likes to hang around his neck, jump off things on to him, bite his ankles, etc. No wonder she gets on his nerves, poor guy. Naw, he loves her.

The male/female combo. is usually a good one...sounds like he's definitely going to be happy about another kitty to hang out with!!! I agree you should try a rescue shelter first...if your cat's as cool as he sounds it won't matter if it's not a kitten, and there are so many wonderful adult cats who need love...(plus be mellow enough to chill out with him & not drive him crazy...!) Good luck!

Nope it will be an adult cat. He's 12 and doesn't need a kitten all over him. Plus I know I will definitely save a life that way.

Ok here's an update..Now I know I really need to do something asap. My neighbor was watering her yard last night and her back door was open. She was at it for like 30 mins. Frankie had went into her house and was just sitting in her living room with her cat!!!!!!! I was sooooo embarrassed!! I apologized a hundred times but everything was fine because there was nothing broken. OMG!!
