Doesn't matter if there's pain. An increase in size is a red flag that the cat needs to go to the vet very soon.

Agree with the other posts. Cats and dogs cannot tell you when they are sick or in pain. If there is a growth where one shouldn't be, chances are the cat is in pain. Please take him to the vet. Let us know what happens.

Default Kitty with a Lump in his/her cheek

We have an very old kitty who got the same swelling in her cheek and she had a huge piece of tartar on her gum that had caused an infection. We took her to the vet and she removed the tartar. You would not believe the size of the piece of tartar! I felt so bad. Get your kitty to the vet.

I agree with the others -vet, vet, vet! It is probably very painful for the cat, and if it causes her to stop eating it can be very dangerous for her.

so now you need a vet visit to find out what caused the infection - bad tooth, bite, what? And your cat needs antibiotics to get over it. Infections can get into the blood and cause heart problems.
