It's been another busy day around here.

Sally has adjusted very well. She cried some last night but is quiet tonight after several play dates today with the kids and myself. I think we wore her out!

Our resident kitty is still wanting nothing to do with even Sally's scent. The room she is in is far away from our bedroom so I carried her in there just to let her take a look and smell. Sally was all cutesy and fun, wanting to reach up and grab her but instead our kitty just blew a huge hiss her way. Sally just kind of squinted against the hiss as if to say, "Wow, whatever that was it was weird!"

I cracked up. I'll be taking it very slow with these two.

Btw, the cats do stay inside the Petco store 24/7 and do not go to foster care.

The great news is that besides Sally the baby Tortie was also adopted! Yay!

Talking Meet Sally O'Malley!

I finally got a chance to snap a few of our Miss Sally O'Malley, to be known as simply ... Sally.

It's amazing how quickly she has settled in, and does great in her separate quarters while we acclimate our Tortie to the new cat in town. I figure that she got very used to the volunteers in Petco coming to feed, water, clean, play and then leave, because she seems to accept that behavior from us very well.

Of course I will be so happy when she can leave the girls' playroom and join the rest of us in the house. Must be patient!

So glad you have your kitty now.
You have received all the advice you needed here, just wanted to tell you I have 2 cats which I rescued from Petsmart and Petco rescuers and they are just so loving and sweet. So there's no need for any worry. They are just so happy to have somebody who REALLY cares about them.

She looks so sweet and happy!

We adopted our Emma at a Petsmart, but she belonged to a rescue organization so she went to a foster home at night. She was extremely traumatized when we first got her, but now she is the most laid back, cuddly, happy kitty. We love her to pieces, and I'm sure you'll have the same success and joy with Sally!

She's adorable! And actually is the first 'tiger' calico I've ever seen. Have you seen that before? I mean, her striping and markings are so regular that you have to look twice to see the three colours.

Very pretty kitty! Glad it is working out for all. My cats hissed for at least 6 months whenever a new cat came into the household.

carolinadreamin: I am happy to hear that you got 'Sally'. She is beautiful! I always hated picking one out of a group of cats, too. It made me feel like a camp commandant. Anyway, I hope your older cat doesn't have too much trouble making friends. She'll probably come around; they almost always do. The first reaction is seldom very nice!
