Hi all,

Naturen was kind enough to suggest I investigate a magnetic cat door for letting my indoor/outdoor go out, while keeping my indoor inside. Naturen had unfortunately not used the magnetic key component of the door, so I wanted to ask-

Has anyone tried this door or one similar to it? What was your experience with it ? Easy to install? Reliable? Didn't trap cats while you were away?

Thanks,
Peter

well without the magnet they cannot get back in and will be trapped outside when we got it ours did not have a magnet as the owner of the house did not supply one so we put sellotape on that little point now we have the magnet it works properly

hope this helps

Our cats are indoors-only (I lost every indoor-outdoor cat I ever had) but we have cat-doors to their safe outdoor enclosure and to the sunporch. I hope you have a neighbor on guard in case your indoor-outdoor cats get hit by a car or injured in some other way when you are not home. Make sure you leave them a number for an emergency vet, plus your vet and a blank check. I'm as serious as a heart attack about this.

I haven't tried that door, but I have heard about another kind, that works with the cat's implanted ID microchip. Nothing to lose! Just have to make sure that the battery on the door is fresh before you go away.
