So this little gray kitten came into our clinic with a fractured left hind leg...the owners, (in addition to waiting so long to do anything about the injury it can not be healed now), abandoned him there...same old story, a less than perfect creature & they run for the hills. . He'll always have a hobble.
Knowing that gray cats are a weakness for me, I did my best to keep my distance & not fall madly in love, but alas, my strength finally dwindled...he's so sweet and gentle, not a mean bone in his entire little body, just love to the very core.
I knew my 1 year old Humphrey the 2nd (H2) would be cool with him, (he's just cool in general...loves & wants to play with all the animals he meets!) but was very worried about my 12 (almost 13) year old female Harley...well, lo & behold, she LIKES him!!! It must have been meant to be! She hissed a couple of times in the beginning, but I think his timid and submissive reaction put her at ease, she knows she's still Queen of the lair...they've touched noses about 5 times today & I've caught them hanging out on the couch together as well...yay! I haven't even had him 2 whole days yet, so this is all pretty amazing...her brother (Humphrey the 1st) also had a hobble, an insanely sweet temperament, and looked very similar, so I think that may be part of the reason she's accepted him so quickly.
Here are a few pics...the 1st ones are at the clinic, and the others are once I got him home...please excuse all the clawmarks on my (oops...I meant THEIR) leather couch, it's their favorite scratching post, lol!
Ohh, both Hagrids are sooo cute! How could anyone not get an injured animal help? They don't deserve to even own animals. Bless you for giving him a good home.
One of the girls I work with thought he looked like he could be part Coon Cat, so if that's the case he will definitely be one big baby boy! As long as he's happy & healthy I don't care how big or small he is, though, I'm just so happy to have him in my life!
I should add here that he's only 2 1/2 months old...yeah, he's pretty huge for one so young, lol!
