I did purchase the Wellness on Amazon, both the canned and the dry. Edward loves the canned, and has been eating the dry, a little bit, but I am concerned; is the dry food supposed to smell like that? It's pretty powerful, that smell. I sure hope it's not spoiled.
What smell? The product you ordered does have a slight fishy smell. What is the expiration date on the bag? If it has a chemical odor, then yes, it could be bad. In July, my daughter purchased a bag of Wellness and when she got it home noticed a stain on the outside of the bag. When she opened it, it had a strong chemical smell...something must have been absorbed into it. She returned the bag with no problems to PetCo.
I'll check the expiration date. Not a chemical smell, just a "meaty" smell, not noticed in other dry cat foods. I would assume Edward wouldn't eat it if it were really nasty. He sure loves the canned.
I thought he was big, but after looking at those Main Coon cats, he's just a little fellow. Here is his "long body" version: (I'll attach later)
Expiration date is Nov. 2010. It doesn't really smell *bad*, it just smells. I'm sure he wouldn't eat it if it wasn't eatable.
He's wanting me to give him two small cans a day, and I guess I should. I accidentally gave him a can of FF chicken this evening, which he chowed down on. But earlier I tried to give him canned Friskies and he wouldn't touch it. So much for Friskies (salmon).
I just don't want him to get fat; it's not healthy.
I think I noticed the smell at the beginning. I'm immune now.
