Hello,
I have been researching top loading cat carriers to transport my two cats from Cal to Tenn. in April. I see the Aram 3 as the only option. There are mixed reviews about the handle and the security of the doors.
Obviously security is utmost importance as I will be alone transferring from hotel to car for five days.
I was thinking zip ties could add the security. Anyone have experience w/ this?
Thanks!
I can tell, don't skimp on quality. A few yrs back, I bought some beautiful royal blue carriers for our Ragdolls. We were evacuated that yr. for a hurricane...and my one big guy, was able to force the zipper open almost immeadiately. Once he learned he could do this, it was almost impossible to keep him in. Had we been anyplace other than in the car, he would have been gone. Thank fully, my husband did have some plastic zip ties in his emergency toolbox and that solved the problem!
When it was all said and done, I returned the 3 carriers and bought Sherpas...I now have 6 sherpas...worth every penny. No escapes and airline approved. Can be loaded side or top...one has wheels and has flaps that can be down for my privacy for the animal.
Hi Shelby,
I do not want the cloth carriers for this reason. I"m only going w/ the hard plastic. I think i find the right fit for my car that gives them the most room. Aram 2 double door
I'll secure w/ bungie and keep their collars attached to a lease hanging out the door too. w/ just one person driving for days...could get spacey! want to be ultra secure.

I drove from VA to AZ with three cats. Each cat had their own hard plastic carrier, and it worke out week. I would be reluctant to use a cloth carrier. I took my neighbor's almost grown kittens to be spayed, and didn't use her cloth carrier. If I had, the combined weight of them would have ripped a hole in it. I used my hard plastic carrier to take them in, and I used both carriers to pick them. But there was only one cat per carrier.
