Since I have just come from cleaning all my kitty litters, I would suggest, if you already haven't done so, getting two litter pans. Your first male cat feels that the original kitty litter is his. This fact may, down the road a bit, produce fighting among the two. In my clueless days, when I introduced a second cat to my cat that I had for years, I overlooked the kitty litter situation. And it caused a lot of trouble, so much so, that my first cat actually bit the new one. That is when I got a clue....get a second kitty litter!
Okay, will do. Thanks! (easy to do as I have two litter boxes already) The other thing I'm going to do is keep Edward away from the front door; I don't want him to go walk-about again.
3 neutered males here and they all get along just fine! Grown cats just need to adjust to their new "housemates" and it will work out. Imagine someone dropped off another person at your house, it takes time to work out the kinks and come to an understanding .

I got two neutered males and they're buddies. So your guys will do fine. They're might be an adjustment period or they may just go with cats. Who knows.
Years ago when I was a toddler my dad used to let all 6 of the cats inside the house from being outside. Well, one day he came in and woke my mother up and and said....."There's another cat. It looks a little bit like one we already have. I've been feeding it for three days now!" So now instead of 6, we had 7!

Yeah, these are my forever babies! I'm going to go and buy them both baby blankets, like you guys said. I took a shower and they both "helped" me; it's almost like, they're both trying to prove what good boys they can be. I've been cooing and talking to them and petting them since 7:00 a.m.
I've got to teach in an hour, so how they'll be in the non-studio part of my house, alone together, I don't know, but we'll be able to hear them if there's a big fight. I bet there won't be. Right now, they're both asleep. Not together (yet), but pretty near each other.
Another thing to remember is that many cat fights sound like World War Three, but they are mostly sound and fury. That isn't to say that a cat fight never results in serious injury, but most don't. Just give them time, and they'll get used to each other. Within a month, they should have most of their differences ironed out.
Welp, all is peace at my house. They sniff each other and run and play, but no snarling or hissing since the initial intro yesterday, and they're both asleep in their respective beds. I think they're going to be great friends and it doesn't seem to be a problem. It's certainly a great comfort to me.
Of course I make a point of cooing and petting both of them, and reassuring them, and I gave them separate breakfasts. I thought the older, bigger one would be jealous (the one who went "walkabout" for a week), but I think he's so happy to be home, he'd put up with pretty much anything. He's worn out, poor thing. I'm taking him to the vet, just to make sure he's okay. He's pretty thin. The other one's fat, so maybe they'll both get some exercise, playing. But they're not fighting.
I have always had multiple male cats, all fixed of course. They can become very loving toward each other in time. Some of mine just loved each other like they had been together all of their life, played together etc.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Put a microchip in your cats so should they get lost again, they will be able to find their way home to you.
I had 3 females and 2 males at one time, all spayed and neutered. Both males have since passed, but they were the best of buddies. All my females don't really like each other. My one male cat was pretty much the head of the "fur"house, none of the females liked him. My other male just loved the girls, and the girls didn't mind him. They all lived together for at least 12+ years.
