I bought a cheap card of balls with bells which are big hits, but most of the toys are finds. Bottlecaps are good. The plastic rings from milk bottles are favorites. The long pieces of plastic that come on cat litter lids are fun according to some of my furkids. Anything round.

Especially fun is something of yours which they KNOW will mean you pay attention to them to retrieve it too.

Pens. If our cats find a pen anywhere within a paw's reach, they'll bat it around all day.

Thanks everyone.

Anyone have any insight on the safety latches?

My plans were to keep them in my spare bedroom during the day...and in my bedroom during the evenings. And eventually as they are old enough...to let them free roam the house all day.

Have plenty of things for them to do in that room. Cat furniture, a windowsill, lots of toys and maybe a radio playing very low.

Check, check, check and check!

Thanks everyone!

My sisters are throwing me a "kitten shower" in a few weeks...I expect to get lots of toys to keep them busy. Being that I'm not a new cat-owner, I got picky with my "wish list" of toys. My sister called me a "neurotic cat mom". She said it with love though. LOL

Get some fuzzy blankets! Kitties love fuzzy blankets.

Every time I get a new afghan, blanket, what have you, the cats appropriate it for their own. *sigh*

I have TONS! When my kitty started getting really sick - I was covering my furniture in blankets - which she loved anyway and then it protected my furniture! Target had these great fleece "baby" blankets for $1.00! Cute too! (And I of course have tons of adult size human blankets. )

Out of the blue my co-worker got an email yesterday from a lady she used to volunteer with (at a local humane society). The lady has five seven-week old kittens in her basement. ADORABLE. I know I said I was going to wait until after vacation....but I think I'm going to go and meet them this weekend.
