ROYAL OAK, Mich., June 2 (UPI) -- Dr. Jack Kevorkian, an assisted suicide advocate, is hospitalized in a Detroit-area hospital in a weak condition, his lawyer said.
Kevorkian, 83, has been hospitalized in Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for the past 10 days with respiratory and kidney ailments and is registered under a pseudonym, the Detroit News reported Thursday.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the Michigan pathologist who put assisted suicide on the world's medical ethics stage, died early Friday, according to a spokesman with Beaumont Hospital. He was 83.
The assisted-suicide advocate had been hospitalized in Michigan for pneumonia and a kidney-related ailment, his attorney Mayer Morganroth has said.
Thanks for posting this. I, too, salute Dr. Kevorkian. While not all of his tactics may have been admirable, he fought for our freedom to choose at great personal cost. What could be more American than that?

No problem; glad you could appreciate.
True, he was a bit of an eccentric and fanatical at times; but cared for and showed compassion for his patients in it's truest form; never sold-out to big pharmaceutical companies - he kept medicine patient driven, not business driven.
