I guess its Micheal Jackson. Despite rumors of him molesting young boys, he was internationally beloved. Who else had even men acting like groupies at his concerts or got the chance to shake his hand?
I wish I can find that video where this one man started jumping up and down after he hugged Michael. Too funny

His music transcended age, religion, and race( one of the few black artists to be featured on MTV at the time). You have singers who were barely alive or not even born when MJ was at his peak saying MJ is one of there biggest inspiration.
