I'm not sure if this belongs best under the celebrities, health, or business category. Anyway, Steve Jobs has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

See story at CNN:

CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News

He was only 56. For those of you not familiar with pancreatic cancer, it is one of the most deadly cancers out there. It is very hard to diagnosis, meaning that most people are diagnosed after the cancer has spread. Most patients do not live beyond five years of diagnosis. My dad died last year after having it for ten years. He was in the tiny percentage of people who live that long post diagnosis.

Here is a link to more info on the disease:

unfortunately, he had a very public battle with his cancer. Every year he did a keynote presentation, people would talk about his declining health, how skinny he looked, etc. I think after he resigned from Apple, a lot of people began to fear the worst, especially since he didn't even make a cameo appearance yesterday.

it's sad he's gone so soon, but he followed his dream and I hope he felt proud about what all he had accomplished throughout his life..I'd say he had a very successful life

A very admirable man. He had many shortcomings, experienced enough failures for several lifetimes, yet kept going and managed to completely change the way we use technology.

RIP Steve Jobs.
