A man married for a decade or more would have used just as that much if not more but either the kids ruin it or the wife starts feeling "tired" or having "headaches" a year or two into the marriage.
For a rich famous guy, especially if he's on the road getting richer and more famous, all he has to do is open the door and decide when to close it. Some guys probably have a flunky to bring girls in and maybe filter them a bit.

Just -1- woman a day for 10 years is still 3,652 women (the extra 2 for leap year days). Almost any famous performer that doesn't look like the obese guy from Alcatraz can pull this. On the fame scale I am a nobody* and there have still been times when I got laid with 3 different chicks on the same day. So if a rocker claims like 5,000 or something, especially when they been famous for 20+ years, it sounds logical, jus' sayin'.
*I was in the Army for 7 years, so even if I'm a nobody now, I'd like to think I was a somebody for at least that time...

I don't think the bold statement is statistically possible.
A quick Google search shows that the average number of sex partners a man will have over the course of his life is 7; if we assume that Gene really has bedded 4600 - and given his well-known sexual appetite, his 35+ years on the road as a major rock star, and his open relationship with a soft-core porn actress, I don't the it's that hard to believe - that would mean that 657 men would have to die without ever having sex to achieve an average of 7.
I was watching, "HollyWeds" on TV and almost spit my wine clear across a room when I heard Gene Simmons from KISS admit, while sitting next to his now wife that he has had over '4,600' sexual partners in his past- that is 'four THOUSAND Six HUNDRED' ... LMFAO!
