I think you're holding up the screen gods and goddesses of the past and comparing them to all of today's actors while ignoring all the dull and poor actors of the past, and there were many. What's sad is many of today's great actors don't always get the big headlines because they don't have "the look". William H. Macy, Edward Norton, and many others are very good actors.

Do you know them personally? If not, all you know is how the media portrays them. You can shape anyone into anything when you can pick and choose what sides of people to show and take things out of context.

I can assure you that people that are celebrities due to their talent such as actors, actresses, musicians, and other artist are more eccentric and more interesting than the average person. To have those talents, you almost have to be. Then you have people that are celebrities for no reason other than their name such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton who have no talent at all and are a completely different story.

With that said, these people you refer to are just that, they are people just like you and I and to group hundreds of people as being whitewashed it just ignorant. How can you paint celebrities with such a broad brush like that and call then whitewashed. All people are different and celebrities or no different. I think your claim is beyond ridiculous because you dont know them and it is to too hard to realize that you know little to nothing except for media portrayal.
