I think its sick. Shouldn't the child be learning to chew their food themselves? I think she is creating a strange dependency in her son.
If he wants a snack, he shouldn't be headed towards her mouth to get it. He should be asking his mother to give it to him to shew himself. Where are the boundaries? She is setting him up for some odd behavior down the line.
And I am sure it does not stop there. I'm sure there are other odd things going on or will in the future.
While I have no wish to eat out of anybody's mouth myself, it doesn't bother me one bit. As somebody else said, prechewing has been done around the world, so even if not normal here, she's not totally out in left field. Personally, I'd use the food processor, but the kid looks healthy, happy, and loved, and that's what's most important.
I have never pre-chewed my childs food. I have mashed it, pureed it and chop it but never pre chewed it. She is in left field- if you watch the video she has to get his attention severl times in order to do this nasty thing to him. It it gross!
Silverstone showing some desperation in her need to get this one out in the public domain Old Blossom character (can't spell her real name) now on "Big Bang Theory" also has that weird parenting style going -sleeping with her kids to the point they don't have sex in their own bed Breastfeeding until the kid decides not to (OUCH)!!
It's perfectly ok in my book though, the way my husband puts real food or a dog treat in his mouth and lets the dogs take it from the other end! I told him to stop but I have since realized it's not going to change
But a child needs to learn to chew his or her own food. it's part of the growing process! She thinks it creates a "bond" between mother and child. That bond is already there! it is nurtured by the basic taking care of your child without going all out overboard.
This is, quite literally, for the birds. Birds do this!
I get the feeling this may become the "it" trend in parenting as many emulate what some of these wacky celebrities do. I hope not though!
seems she has a cult following who agree with this........ I find it disgusting and not normal. I don't care who's mouth it is and her mouth has been around a lot of ummm mennnn... i would not want ANYONE pre-chewing my food.
