well, I do agree that gay people should not have to come out at all...just like straight people don't have to come out..maybe someday we'll reproduce wihtout having sex and all thet genderstuff won't matter anymore
I thought he came out a long time ago? Oh well, good for him either way!

Maybe because people love to gossip, and public figures get sick of the "is he/she or isn't he/she?" BS that goes on until they come out officially. That's why Neil Patrick Harris came out, since he said the chatter was getting annoying - plus the National Enquirer was getting ready to print a story, and he thought it would be great to "scoop" them.
To summarize: If OTHER people didn't care so much, they wouldn't need to make an announcement.
I don't think anyone is shocked. Most people have long suspected that he is gay.
Good for him. It takes alot of courage to do what he did. Anderson seems like a great guy and I'm glad that he can finally live his life completely openly.
Without going into a lot of detail....I've been around him before. he's one of the friendliest, smartest, charismatic men I've been around. Makes fun of himself and not conceited. I have not met that many decent males and Anderson Cooper's on a short list, but don't have anything bad to say about him. I don't care that he's gay and hope it all work out for him.
I think everyone knew he was gay, hes just so darn cute I just want to squeeze him.
