Gene Hackman, great actor, stopped acting at 74 I think. His wife has a shop/furniture gallery in New Mexico and that's that. Hey, it's time to move on at some point.
Richard Long went right from the Big Valley into two and a half years of "Nanny and the Professor," which I loved as a kid.
I think Jack Lord made so much money (or at least enough for him) that he didn't need to work, so why do it. Plus ha eas soooo typed cast as Steve McGarret. Let's face it I don't think he was ever in to for the 'craft of acting."
Look at Dennis Franz. He'd been a poor working actor for so long, when he lucked out with "NYPD Blue" he rode that horse all the way to the bank...married his long-tim girlfriend, left acting and you haven't heard from him since. Living hapuly ever after on a ranch somewhere
As for Bridget Fonda...yeah, she did drop off the map didn't she. She could be a Meryl Streep type. and gt all kinds of roles. But she vanished.
But like actors of old, some get married, stop acting to raise families, or do whatever.
A "C" level actor I just love to look at is Adrian Paul of the TV show "Highlander." Not hte best actor but I'd watch him read the phone book!

I forgot about Nanny and the Professor!
As for Adrian Paul, I thought he might not make a bad James Bond, but they decided to go in a different direction with the 007 series. I do like him though.
Volcano was 1997...Tommy Lee Jones has done a real mixture of things and I think he's had a very successful career, he was in everything for a while.
I watched Blood Simple a while back and wondered about John Getz who was the lead.
He was good in it, good looking etc and apart from that I've only ever seen him in small character roles.
Michael Beihn who was in the orig Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss and Tombstone; not sure why he didn't get more roles, he was goodlooking, quite versatile, played both good guys and villains.
Didn't Beihn portray Jesus in the movie "The Seventh Sign"? (Demi Moore)
I think Tea is still doing projects when she feels like it. She's busy raising kids and being a wife to David Duchovny...obviously doesn't HAVE to work. IMDB has her last three credits in 2009, 2011, 2011.

not sure if they ever divorced but she and Duchovny split up again in 2011
Actually Doug McClure didn't fade away. After the Virginian ended in 71 he starred in a James Bond like adventure series called 'Search'. I remember it well. After that ended he went to England and became a international movie star in the mid 70's. He made classics like 'The Land That Time Forgot' about when in WW1 they captured a German U-boat and discovered a island with dinosaurs in the Antarctica. It was real good. He then did a follow up with Patrick Wayne (John Wayne's son) in 'The People That Time Forgot'. Then he made the classic "At The Earths Core' with Peter Cushing. Then he came back to the states and was in the 'Cannonball Run' movie with Burt Reynolds. To the contrary, McClure worked steady all the way until his death. Check out his resume.
