I know it will sound very retarded (happens to me all the time though) but the first thing that came to my mind when I read the article was: "He is 82 and still gay?"
The singing voice does NOT match his speaking voice. Is that often seen/heard? It's like two different people. His singing voice is awesome. His speaking voice, eh.
Was he really? Are you sure? What was his name in real life?
I'm glad that Jim Nabors finally tied the knot. I'm not sure why he didn't do it sooner. 82 years of age is a long time to wait.
I wonder where he was when activists in Hawaii were trying to make civil unions/marriage equality a reality back in the 90s for example.
Seems to me that they could have used his help.

Floyd Lawson was portrayed by actor Howard McNair. Among other roles, he played Doc Adams in the radio version of "Gunsmoke" (with William Conrad as Matt Dillon).

didn't find anything to indicte he was gay. Excerpt from link--On January 3, 1969 McNear died of complications from pneumonia due to the effects of a stroke. He was interred in the Los Angeles National Cemetery, a former U.S. Veterans Administration cemetery.[12] Actor and old friend Parley Baer delivered his eulogy. His wife Helen and son Christopher survived him.
Did find some interesting facts about his appearances as Floyd.

I'm Gay, and sometimes I don't think Gay people have ears and eyes, and they're accredited for being so intelligent, but haven't they run into, along the way, the dilemma's/agonies/financial mishaps among their heterosexual acquaintances/friends/relatives with this antiquated, dying institution of marriage?
But if that's their determined choice, then let freedom ring!
Me? No way, no way, no way, no way.........................Ho Zay!!!
