Please tell me this is a joke. First off why would anyone be praise someone who is "earning" half of a dozen degrees in a short span of time. I mean a PhD takes time and dedication. A masters degree, especially in literature is more time consuming than a business degree.
No one I know in college brags about finishing degrees like these in a short amount of time. The first reaction is what kind of a quick diploma mill did you go to? The other reaction someone would have to being in all of these grad programs at the same time is how the hell did you get approval for this? I had a hard time getting approval for a class in a different department, much less get approval to take time off from one program to attend another if there was no joint degree program.
Then there is the subject of his book which was panned and his directorial debut which was likewise panned. His art exhibit was a farce too. I mean did it not occur to the writer of this article that perhaps Franco's celeb status is what's giving him access to all these great hobbies, and not so much the belief that he is this multi-talented savant? I am sure the universities are loving the fact that an A-Lister is attending their school so they roll out the red carpet and let him practically rent it out for the duration of the program.
I don't mean to drone on but it just amazes me what reporters will write about without fact checking or asking important questions about how the guy actually goes about doing all this?
reenrolled at UCLA in the fall of 2006 as an English major with a creative writing concentration. He received permission to take as many as 62 course credits per quarter compared to the normal limit of 19,[101] while still continuing to act. He received his undergraduate degree in June 2008 with a GPA over 3.5/4.0
He moved to New York to simultaneously attend graduate school at Columbia University's MFA writing program, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for filmmaking,[97][108][109][110] and Brooklyn College for fiction writing,[101] while also attending the low-residency writing program at North Carolina's Warren Wilson College for poetry.[6] He received his MFA from Columbia in 2010.[111] Franco is a PhD student in English at Yale University[112] and will also attend the Rhode Island School of Design.[6]
Either this guy has an IQ of 400 or money/fame talks....
Well, His acting is good guess he just is a knowledge seeker. He is sure way better behaved then Lindsay Lohan and Andy Dick. Better to rack up diploma's then arrests.
But he's not really that famous. And I don't know about more or less accusing schools like those of favoritism.
he took 62 course credits per quarter while acting. How in the hell did he do that?? Graduated in 2 years while probably not stepping foot inside a classroom.
