I haven't had time to read it- can you explain what your impressions are having read it, as opposed to what they were before reading it?

Now she's lost some restaurant deals with Caesars casinos:

The casino company just announced it will be KILLING its professional relationship with Paula Deen -- and will close all 4 of her restaurants that operate on its properties.
And she may lose her relationship with QVC:

QVC is 'reviewing business relationship' with Paula Deen | Inside TV | EW.com

In a statement to EW, a rep for QVC said, “QVC shares the concerns being raised around the unfortunate Paula Deen situation. QVC does not tolerate discriminatory behavior. We are closely monitoring these events and the ongoing litigation. We are reviewing our business relationship with Ms. Deen, and in the meantime, we have no immediate plans to have her appear on QVC.”

Did she actually do that? Outright call and demean a black person by calling her a N***** at work? Or did she use the word in some other way? Not saying its not bad but 20 year ago PD was probably in her 30s or 40s and using the n word as sort of an adjective instead of of African Anmerican or Black was probably pretty common. I knew a guy from Georgia in the 90s. He was in his mid 30s. He said his dad still called black people colored.
I have no idea, I'm not following this closely but I think there is a small bit of a difference there so I'd be interested in knowing the exact circumstances.

Is anyone surprised that a white woman from Albany, Georgia that was raised in the 50's and 60's is a racist? This didn't come soon enough!

You are in Houston? Texas, of course, has no racists. Also, all women from Georgia raised in that time are not racists. It is bigoted of you to think so.

WalMart and Home Depot both drop kicked Paula Deen. I would love to see Paula Deen's redneck fans try to boycott their shopping venue of choice....Wal-Mart.

People with an axe to grind have jumped on the crucify Paula bandwagon. They didn't care about her before, don't care now and are here to pile on.

The people that appreciated her before KNOW that she is not a racist. She is loud, funny, salty and makes yummy food. Loud, funny, salty people's mouths have a habit of getting them in trouble, but it is what endears us to them at the same time.

As for her food, us southerners know that what she makes is not a steady diet, we all would be in our graves if we ate like that every day. She makes dishes that we will prepare for holidays or a big Sunday dinner but won't eat day to day. We get it. Others don't.

So, those of us that appreciate her will stand by her and things will be ok. If the Today shows and the Food Networks of the world want to blackball her, then we will think less of them. She will be OK.

Need to get this off my chest as well as the feeling that anything I say on a site like this will change hypocrisy in another. And that is what this thread is full of, hypocrisy.... accusing someone of hate and ridicule when pouring it on themselves in spades.
This sums it all up perfectly

You know I am her fan, and I don't shop in Wal-Mart, not because I think I am too good, like some people, but because there is not one near me. Target is closer. Also, you know when you call all of her fans rednecks you are doing exactly what you are claiming she does. You are showing your prejudice.

See now folks in this thread, including me, reached out to you telling you they were sorry for what your ancestors endured then you keep the racism going by calling folks red necks? How is that different than what Paula is being blazed for?
