And yes, regarding George Lopez, I'm aware of his tasteless, racist schtick. Of course, he'll suffer no consequences, as publicly persecuting him doesn't fit the narrative. And there will be no consequences either for Jaimie Fox and his little anti-White political tirade of late disguised as humor in an SNL routine. And so forth...

typical. No fallout because he isn't white. Only whitey is held to the standards of PC

He helped write and pass laws until he couldn't.

How did such a disgusting pig, who hated blacks, was the grand master of a KKK group....... get his ass voted in year after year after year and up until he died in 2010? He apologized?

And Paula Deen should be hung from a cross (or a tree, and by her neck)?

She cooks chicken and grits. You don't have to follow Paula's recipes, you don't have to watch the food network.

Byrd helped make and pass LAWS that affect EVERYONE.

And the media is all over Paula?

Give me a break.
Well, you gotta admit - Miss Paula has made for some pretty interesting television these past few days.

Unlike Robert Byrd - who was as interesting as a tree trunk.

Paula screeching 'I IS WHAT I IS AND I AINT CHANGIN' got the today show some pretty good ratings. I like Paula but she should have skipped all those Youtube apologies and definitely skipped that today show interview.

She needs some good crisis management people now. It IS possible to come back after being crucified in the media - just ask Martha Stewart.

Oh, and West Virginians love Byrd. They love Paula Deen too. Go figure.

It is astounding to me how many people STILL don't get that this whole ordeal is her own causing, by employing her brother Bubba Heirs. He is the reason she was forced to give a deposition in the first place, because of his mistreatment of his black employees in her restaurant. Perhaps if she would simply fire the POS, some of this rain of hell would go away, but she hasn't; as of today, he is still running the restaurant.

Frankly, he seems downright creepy to me. I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle Bubba is also a pedophile. Wonder what kind of porn he looks at while he is at the restaurant working?

Paula Deen is doing herself a disservice by not distancing herself and her empire from the cancer that is Bubba Heirs.

Well, maybe she doesn't do that, not out of family loyalty, but that Bubba knows a LOT more about her that she does not want to come out.

If that were not the case, sure, she should just sell off her half of that restaurant and distance herself from him. She also should have addressed, point by point, the accusations and how she was misunderstood. Unfortunately, there is no defense for her killer cooking, and she knows it. People here defending her know it, too, which is why they cast aspersions on the poster rather than defend her poisoning, literally sickening, food.

What I don't understand from the depo Bubba was running that restaurant in the ground & high in debt with some saying he was stealing from the company. Seems when it came up short she just had money transferred to shore it up. I would have kicked him to the curb brother or not because as a businessman he apparently sucks.

Neither one of them will learn from this because neither one see anything wrong in what they've done.

Exactly. Her comment "I is what I is," blew my mind. Right there is just another crack at how some blacks talk. If that doesn't show you just how racist she is, without even realizing it... I have no sympathy for her.

Bubba is part owner in the restaurant. She can't fire him.

I am not defending Paula Deen. I've read the deposition and found it helpful in figuring out exactly what has happened. A lot is revealed in it and a lot of the info is not available to the public at this time but if this goes to court I think it will blow the lid off what is left of the Paula Deen empire.

1. Personally, I think she is lying about not having read the investigators' report (the one that said Lisa Jackson has grounds to file an EEOC complaint). Deen's corporation hired the company that did the investigations.

2. I also think she is conveniently "forgetting" about certain meetings she attended that addressed the issues in the restaurant.

3. It does not help her case to keep popping up on youtube stating that "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." Spare me, Paula. You are being entirely too sanctimonious and that really turns people off. We don't need Bible verses to know what is right and what is wrong.

4. This is not about the use of the "n" word. This is about a hostile work environment. "Hostile" does not only refer to physical attacks. In fact, it usually refers to things that make an employee uncomfortable such as sexual remarks, racial remarks and things along those lines.

5. Deen needs to keep her mouth shut and settle out of court, IMO, because in court the evidence will blow Paula Deen, Inc. out of the water. She is already in a leaky boat.

Paula has enough money, she better do it quickly before it is all gone to lawyers, to buy him out and tell him you take this deal or you buy me out. She needs to cut business ties with him he is despicable if what they say is true in these legal reports. I wouldn't have worked 3 year then called foul I would have called foul the first time he tried to show me porno on the job or talked ill of the other workers.

I don't know any black people that say "I is what I is", or talk anything like that, and I know a lot.

You're right. Poor English usage is a symptom of a person who was reared in a social climate in which education was neither respected nor encouraged. There are poor white, blacks, Hispanics, etc, whose families and peers have encouraged them to do poorly. There are some people who single out only blacks who come from such backgrounds and use them wrongly to represent all black people. The media, also, shows too many African Americans who speak as though they are from that background. I, as you, have not worked with any black people who spoke that way.
