Carlin, Hicks, Jim Jeffries, Tim Minchin, Bill Maher, Chris Rock, Jeselnik, Lewis Black...2 more...eh...Tosh and Russell Brand

Edit to say I forgot Ricky Gervais...massive oversight. Slot him in the top few and remove Tosh or Brand (flip a coin). Honestly Dennis Miller is pushing my top ten, too, even though I disagree with something close to the majority of his opinions. His rants and obscure references are often quite entertaining even when they're serving a purpose I cannot support...but I think I'll put Miller tenth so that we can safely remove both Tosh and Brand

so:

1. George Carlin
2. Bill Hicks
3. Ricky Gervais
4. Jim Jeffries
5. Bill Maher
6. Tim Minchin
7. Chris Rock
8. Anthony Jeselnik
9. Lewis Black
10. Dennis Miller

I really like Alonzo Bodden, who won one of the seasons of that comedian competition show - forget what it was called. He's often is on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me and is really good at thinking on his feet.

Have you all seen the new series Maron? The comedian Marc Maron stars. I doubt if I've ever seen or heard of him as a comedian, but for some reason I'm in mad lust for him now! Might be his goatee
Marc Maron was at Helium Comedy Club in Buffalo fairly recently, but I didn't get a chance to see him. I like him based on a short Comedy Central stand-up bit I've seen of his and an appearance he made on Real Time with Bill Maher

How has no one mentioned Louis C.K.? I'd like to thank my neighbor for opening my world to the C.K.

Yours was a pretty good list but I made some changes to reflect mine:

Quote:
1. Chris Rock

2. Bill Burr

3. Doug Stanhope

4. Bill Hicks

5. George Carlin

6. Louis CK

7. Jim Gaffigan

8. Robin Williams

9. Eddie Murphy

10. RICHARD PRYOR
2 stand-ins would be Jim Jeffries and Lewis Black.

A friend invited me to see Howie Mandel once. I went because it was free. He was hilarious, right up there with George Carlin and I've seen him about 5 times.

Lisa Lampanelli was funny (but raunchy) before I saw her on Celebrity Apprentice and she completely lost it.

patrice o'neal was the man. he didn't give a crap about who he offended. that's what a comedian should do.
