James Taylor got a bit confused when it was time to belt out the National Anthem at Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday night.
The legendary folk singer began singing "America the Beautiful" instead of the "Star-Spangled Banner" as the audience at the game looked on. He quickly caught his mistake and switched over to the National Anthem after the first few words.

It wasn't that big of a deal. He was slated to sing BOTH songs. He just started to sing the right song at the wrong time. He almost immediately realized his mistake and corrected himself.
Why oh why must the media make a big deal about this when there is so much more going on in our country that needs attention?????

His minor slip-up is getting more play than Roseanne's famous (and facetious) attempt decades ago.
IMO, he recovered well and sang beautifully. He almost made it sound as if those two words were part of the intro.
Give the guy a break!

James Taylor is about as professional as it gets. i can certainly understand this teeny tiny slip. It's no big deal. I adore the man and remember him from our high school days where he would perform at UNC when his Dad was dean of the medical school. Little did we know what his future would bring but we knew he had extraordinary talent.

No big deal, just shows he's human and a true professional. He goofed and instead of making a big deal out of it, he just went on to sing the National Anthem.
I bet 90% of the people watching didn't even notice the mistake.
