I always thought he was an exceptional actor, with a great deal of character in his eyes and look. I think interest in him has faded because he has too much character for the movies being made today. Difficult to get roles for an industry that has dumbed-down.

The movie industry seems really dumbed down for serious actors.

I.e. all the comic book movies and remakes. Movies like Breakdown or Executive Decision probably aren't as hot around the conference room tables at the major studios now days. Movies seem so formula driven now.

Also....many of the big stars from the 90's are kind of fading now. I.e. Will Smith and Tom Cruise. I don't think they are as much of a lock as they use to be. The times are changing.

He did an excellent job as Elvis Presley in the Elvis TV movie from 1979.

He's proved he can change since being a child actor to present I won't count him out until he is dead & buried.

In contrast to Shelley Winters' portrayal of Gladys.

They say Kurt's difficult to work with. Word gets around and they don't want to hire guys like that when they don't have to.
