Sam is right. She had battled drug addition even before 1975, going back to the late 60's. Am really saddened by this news. It was just a couple days ago I was playing her "Unforgettable" CD in the car. What a great talent she was. And when I think of her dad, talk about a great voice! And his songs? Stardust, That Sunday That Summer, Sweet Lorraine, Route 66, L-O-V-E, the list goes on and on and on.
I think she had been clean for quite awhile but she also had....cancer? Treatment for something killed her kidney's and she had to do dialysis all the time for years till she got a transplant in 2009 I think. One thing after another.
65.
Great voice. She had struggles but seemed like a good person. RIP.
The news said Heart Failure as the primary cause of death. Also mentioned other illnesses involved with her deteriorating health. I always liked her and 65 is young to die in this day and age. Her father died younger than she did. Very sad to hear this news today.
A very talented woman has left us. It seems her drug abuse started after her father's early death. Such a shame, but Natalie made some great music, especially in her album of duets with her dad. RIP Natalie Cole.
