Archie Leach or Cary Grant as he became was told his mother had died when he was young by his father, and it wasnt true.. the woman in fact was put into an aslylum by his dad who trotted off with another woman and had another family.. it was years later that then Cary found out about his mother.. visited her and set her up in her own house in Bristol.. He offered to take her to America but she didnt want to.... Archie was a stilt walker long before he hit the big time.. he was a good ice skater , roller skater and dancer too... ..Cary if you look closely had only one front tooth... hard to notice, but someone did, this tooth had been knocked out when young while ice skating.. but over the years his other teeth grew in and shoved them together... handsome man though regardless.. He was to be the star of Its a Wonderful Life.. which went to Jimmy Stewart.. but a follow on film the Bishops Wife did star Cary, and two of the children from Its A Wonderful Life had parts in it... He had five wives.. one being Barbara Hutton the Woolworth heiress , they stayed friends after divorce .. when they were together they were referred to as Cash and Cary......but when they divorced he asked nothing from her.. He had only one child.. to Dyan Cannon..
Barbara Harris (11 April 1981 - 29 November 1986) (his death)
Dyan Cannon (22 July 1965 - 21 March 1968) (divorced) (1 child)
Betsy Drake (25 December 1949 - 13 August 1962) (divorced)
Barbara Hutton (8 July 1942 - 30 August 1945) (divorced)
Virginia Cherrill (9 February 1934 - 26 March 1935) (divorced)
For a long time I couldn't quite decide whether Cary Grant or Spencer Tracy was the "best" American actor of all time, but ultimately I came down on the side of Cary Grant because he do both comedy and drama so naturally.
Favorite film -- "An Affair To Remember". Sleeper favorite -- "In Name Only".

Loved both of them ... Spencer was so laid back.. where Cary had different sides to him... he could be a clown or suave.
