This attempt by celebs to join the immature 24/7 President Trump bashing bandwagon is mainly to get their face/name in the news to either promote their latest book or film.

It's become a craze with them and heaven forbid if they didn't follow the "to get along, go along" rule of the entertainment business.

Plus, if the liberal-biased media stopped their pouting and childish rants about President Trump, the sheep would soon follow their lead.

Reagan was a much better politician than an actor, although he did have some big supporting roles, and some starring roles. He was President of the Screen Actors Guild, two term Governor of California, and two term President of the United States. Heck of a career.

Don't go around thinking this is an American thing. I could list a long line of Filipino celebrities turned political leaders and I am sure that those with links to other countries can do the same. Italy might win the prize for those who see adult entertainment as special with their porn star turned member of Parliament

Very true, but don't you think it is about the same with slavery?

Everybody beats up the USA for it's history of slavery. Like nobody else had slaves?

Most all other countries had them way before the USA did.

Very interesting. Wasn't aware as I don't keep my self in the know about what goes on in the Phillipines.

My OP was about politics in America only and the influence social media has on how people "get themselves out there."

I must agree with this.

What does slavery have to do with American celebrities who have dual careers in politics as well as entertainment?

I was agreeing with Taiko that situations we sometimes think of as unique to our country are in reality just as evident in other countries.

He/she used politicians/celebrities in the Philippines or Italy.

I used slavery in the rest of the World.

Biden would be a game show host, Gore a knockoff televangelist, Hillary a librarian, Schumer would run a dry cleaning shop, and Pelosi would be a middle school lunch lady.
