I think most of them are sick. Many of them are trying desparately looking to fill that empty void in thier life, emotional lonliness. Perhaps it gives them a sense of satisfaction?
Whenever there is no need to steal in order to survive?
Many stars get paid more than enough in order to live a comfortable life, so they don’t need to steal.
When I think of the word disease I think of cancer, heart disease etc... Alocholism (forgive my misspeling) is a disease, a person can die from withdrawl. Addiction is a disease..
Can people be addicted to stealing? Or is it just they enjoy the high they get from not getting caught? Will they die if they can't steal something? Will there body shut down?
This is just an opinion. I'm not a specialist. I just think some things get lumped into "a disease" when it's a matter of choice.. I think stealing is one of those things.
The sad thing is that people can become addicted to anything. Even to eating which actually is essential, but once you start eating for other reasons besides of nourishing spend energy, you could even become addicted to eating.
And once 1 individual becomes addicted to eating, other people who come in contact can (subconsciously) copy this behaviour so that an eating disorder could spread like a disease.
Some disorders could be described as diseases of the mind; especially when you look at diets that become a trend among women and children.
Some children even become so obsessed with how they look that they are willing to starve to death.
