He did the right thing for himself and the taxpayers. Good riddance.
I hate how the "tributes" lump him with Cory. "2 gone too soon" Drug addiction isn't comparable to having 50k images of kids and traveling to known child prostitution countries.
The one thing that I didn't understand about his case is that if he had to pay each victim, that means they'd have to be identified and that could logically lead to the producers of the images. However, idr reading that his arrest led to a bunch of pornographers being arrested.
Well said.

Huge difference.

What is wrong with people? He molested kids.

Yeah, nice looking bucket of scum. Real sweet guy. Too bad his victims are still victims.

there are no words to say how very sorry i am for the child abuse heaped on his innocent victims. there is no excuse that would ever be acceptable for their suffering by pedophiles like him who used these young victims.

my sympathy for his victims doesn't negate my sympathy for his family and their loss.

I'm sure his former costars are in shock at his suicide. I mean who anticipates someone's suicide? And on top of that was the disclosure of his wretched life of amassing kiddie p0rn. The people who worked with him hours upon hours 5 days a week, over several years, couldn't have foreseen all of that. He, like many of his ilk, kept that side of himself hidden.

I'm sure any of us would feel shocked, sickened, and sad at learning someone we worked with and thought we knew, was this whole other person doing illegal and sick things. Doesn't take away feelings of sadness for those who actually knew him. Humans grieve losses, and part of a loss is when a person you thought you knew well, thought was a good, decent human, has this this whole other identity and you never saw it.

I never read that he molested children. Can someone confirm where that was reported? I might be wrong. I just read that he had photos of young children that he found online. Obviously, there should be criminal charges for that as well, but I don't think the penalties should be as stiff as those for people who have molested children.

That said, I was sad that he took his life. Repulsive as it is, I wonder if, as a society, we chose to treat people with these attractions the same way we treat those who are clinically depressed, have bipolar disorder, or other mental illnesses. It's not their fault and they can get treatment. Would more people come out to mental health professionals in that case, and seek treatment? And, once treated, would they be able to live more or less normal lives, not cause any harm to children, and not wind up killing themselves at the age of 35?

This article suggests it's working for some in Germany: https://www.theguardian.com/society/...re-they-offend

It's always sad when someone chooses to get involved in that kind of sickness. He could have taken a different path if he wanted to.

"In 2013, Salling was sued for sexual battery and assault by a woman named Roxanne Gorzela. Gorzela claimed she and Salling dated in 2011, and that he had unprotected sex with her despite her demanding they use a condom."

When Gorzela later approached Salling, worried that she had an STD, she alleges that he got physical with her, throwing her to the ground. According to TMZ, Salling’s insurance company was ordered to shell out some $2.7 million to Gorzela."

Yes, actually there are words.

You could have said that in your OP.

As far as family goes, who knows what they're like. They could be decent people, or maybe he was like this because of what they were like.

I live in LA, the local news reported that his family said it was a mistake what he did, really?

Talk about downplaying it.

He had videos of children being raped, not quite the same as someone being depressed or bipolar disorder.

You actually insulted people who suffer from those issues.
