"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, Here lived a great street sweeper, who did his job well."

Rev. MLK, Jr.

Pathetic that anyone would think being a grocery store clerk is something that should be mocked.

Mr. Gary Coleman's story is one that breaks the heart.

First the parents, then a wife, and finally a girlfriend all in various ways used and or abused Gary Coleman.

That being said while the young (What you talking about Willis?) Gary Coleman was a "star" on television thanks to Different Strokes, his fate sadly was same as many other child actors; once they grow up Hollywood no longer has any use for them as actors. Things were also complicated by Mr. Coleman's various illnesses

Mr. Coleman's adopted parents *should* have realized the good times were not going to last for their son and put his earnings into wise investments and so forth that would leave him on better financial footing as an adult. This apparently didn't happen and when Mr. Coleman reached adulthood had a difficult time adjusting to not being *as famous*, working as an actor and yes, bringing in the sort of money that would allow him to lead a certain type of life style. This didn't stop the man from spending, hence the bankruptcies.

In contrast look at another former child star, Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. That (now) young man is worth > 110 million and still making his money. Besides acting there are investments, real estate and so forth. Daniel Radcliffe puts his New York apartment up for rent at $19k a month | Daily Mail Online

Good to hear Tyler Perry offered Geoffrey a job.

Additionally, rapper Nicki Minaj offered Owens a $25,000 donation as a way to help the actor financially and in response to public shaming of Owens by some media outlets.

I'd never heard of him before this thread.

Now I’m not taking away from her generosity, but I don't recall him saying he was financially strapped. Like many other actors, they take other work to supplement their income.
