That's even worse; better if she'd swiped it than to put her tongue on it, and have it given, unsuspectingly, to someone else.
And I didn't even take the "I hate America" comment seriously. She was born here, for crying out loud. As for it being meant as a jab at "gluttony," come on. The kid and her friend were in a donut shop, themselves.. It was more like, I hate America--all this temptation. Because I love donuts!
But as for furtively licking what would have been someone ELSE'S donut if not for the monitor--tsk tsk!
I said she licked it. The only thing incorrect about my recollection of the situation was her picking it up.

Ariana was at a donut shop in Los Angeles a few years ago. When nobody was looking, she grabbed a donut, licked it, and then put it back.
It was recorded by the donut shop's security cameras. It was all over the news.
The worst part was that she said "I hate Americans" and "I hate America". Apparently it was a reference to gluttony in America.
The gov't took her comments pretty seriously. She was not allowed to attend a scheduled event at the White House after that.
It's cool to "hate". Trust me this lil lolita would be trying to enter the USA in a garbage can if she lived in a 3rd world country. It's easier to dislike something when you are safe. She was born in the USA and made millions in the USA. She can retire today and never worked again in her life. It's really easy to make a comment like that when you are OK.
Thank you for that critical clarification. The fundamental context of the incident could not possibly have been understood without it.
