I wonder if this came about because of Mac Miller's death. Regardless, this was probably inevitable because they got engaged before they even knew each other.
Apparently they’ve known each other for a couple of years but Pete had a girlfriend when they met so nothing happened until this year when they were both free. She said that in an interview.
Still, that engagement was super quick.
I wish them both the best. That girl has had a rough run lately.
Sources told The Sun that Grande dumped Davidson, 24, because she felt he wasn’t there for her enough after Miller passed, leading to arguments that ultimately ended their relationship.
“Ariana has been devastated and Pete couldn’t handle it,” insiders claimed. “She realized she needs a grown-up who can support her and that’s not him. They secretly split a week ago and she’s already moved out of the apartment.”
On SNL Pete Davidson said he had been living at Ariana's place mostly hanging out and buying groceries while she worked. That is no way to keep the torch aflame especially with a very successful woman.
I think Pete had a real chance with Ariana but his inexperience and lack of confidence likely turned her off pretty quickly.
Both will be fine, Ariana will probably end up with a rich guy in the business end of the entertainment industry and Pete will take advantage of his celebrity and date a string of attractive young things. But I could see him aging poorly and flaming out; he seems to like playing the loser/victim role too much.
