I remember seeing Manhattan when it came out when I was about 18, and thinking that not only was it really creepy and exploitative, but also thinking that it was very likely autobiographically based. Turns out his behavior was even worse, even sicker than how he portrayed himself in Manhattan. What a sick man. I doubt that he molested his 7 yr old daughter, but his behavior toward these high school aged girls was really exploitative. And Mia Farrow obviously knew all about exactly who he was before she married him, participated in group sex with these young women, shouldn't have been at all surprised when he went after her own adopted daughter Soon Yi.
Hollywood, entertainment is overrun with pervs. Always has been. People with power and influence often abuse this. Only recently has there been some consequences. Most people like that are made of teflon. Nothing sticks in regard to legal charges.

If the woman doesn't have a problem with it why should others? It wasn't illegal either. She was over the age of consent. AND she approached him.
