She's a gold digger, but not that he's a saint either.
How so? They were married for 23 yrs, have kids. They lived a certain lifestyle. I don't generally follow this stuff and I have no idea for the reasons of the split or who's at fault, if anyone. But what is it that makes her a gold digger?

I'm assuming he made most of the money, if not all. Of course her role had value and they were married many years, w/ children. But, almost 400 K/month is quite steep and her lifestyle will have to change, like many others do, too. Part of divorce. A judge will decide what's "fair." There are women who marry for money and see a big celebrity name/big paycheck and want a lot of it as they exit. Not uncommon either.

I do understand what a gold digger is. But I don't generally see that as someone that was in it for the long haul as she seemed to be (and they still have at least 1 dependent child). It is a lot of money a month and I understand the lifestyle drop more than a lot do. My ex walked out after 20 yrs (for a 19 yr old) and I lost everything. All. house, vehicle, no alimony, no child support, nada. So I do recognize what happens in that situation. But if DeNiro makes 2 mil a month or so then It's not so exorbitant for her. And more likely, she's asking that much because she (or her attorney) knows the judge will lower it so you go high expecting them to come down with what is actually awarded. If you start out low, it'll go lower. And.. what if he was the one that broke the marriage? What if he was screwing around and blew it? I don't know that he did but what if? Been there, done that and if so... it's his own fault. If she did, then I'm sure that would be taken into consideration.
To me... in their world it's the way it works. In some of us average Joe and Josephine worlds.. if he makes $100k.... and after 23 yrs of marriage and children, he walks, should she only be entitled to $30k? And, alimony doesn't last forever. It's only for a certain period of time or until she remarries.
I just don't think that without all those facts she can just be considered a gold digger.

Much of DeNiro's wealth comes from the previously very successful restaurant chain that he owns. Because of COVID, the restaurant chain has not been doing so well.
Mildly annoyed that as an equal she cannot support herself. She isn't handicapped.
When a business dissolves the owners don't get a monthly support.
Cut the loss and move on.
Riding a coat tail.
Eh. There was a pre-nup that they both agreed to and signed.
