Here's one of his numbers from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. A very young Robert Morse! (his performance starts around the 2:00 mark)
WOW.......that was him? But he was so young in "The Boatniks"! That is, aside from that and other young appearances such as on Night Gallery, really didn't know him.
Hope he was ready to go and went out as he wanted.
I hadn't heard anything about him in many, many years....and the only thing I remember seeing him in was A Guide For The Married Man - a memorable funny favorite of mine. Surprised that he was 90, but I guess I shouldn't be. I often forget about how old I'm getting.
I know he had an extensive career on stage and the big screen but he was fantastic in Mad Men. RIP.
Robert’s film and TV career was spotty, but casting him in “Mad Men” was a stroke of genius. Not only did the series revive Robert’s career, it also introduced him to a younger audience that may not have remembered him when he was young. And Robert was not just a song-and-dance man. Prior to “Mad Men” he proved himself as a dramatic actor with his Tony and Emmy Awards for “Tru”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tru_(play)
I read that “Mad Men” was a kind of successor to “How to Succeed in Business…”, although more cynical.
