So sad. He is someone I admire and he's probably one of the greatest actors EVER! I'm very sad and hope he doesn't suffer.

I don't get it. You take chemo you die anyway???? How nuts is that? Besides, it's probably the chemo that will end up killing him....

I love the guy. Always have. He's a class act all the way. The world will be a much poorer place for the loss.

Yes, Newman always was a class act. How will Joanne be able to look at mornings without him?
Good for him that he wants to leave at home. Good choice. I wish you joy, Paul!

My dad had the same experience with Leukemia.

Chemo is extremely harsh on the body--it will either supress the cancer or it will kill you. In my fathers case (and Newmans) the advanced age did not help. If the Chemo is not killing off the cancer cells then the Dr's will tell the patient that the disease is terminal and there is nothing more that can be done.

My dad was supposed to live 2 weeks and he made it a month but it was a difficult, painful and harsh experience. I pray that he goes out peacefully and that the family is not in denial.

It blows my mind that we don't have a cure for cancer yet.

I believe there are cures. I also believe that because cancer treatment is a multi-BILLION dollar industry in this country that these cures are being suppressed and touted as "quackery". There are many, many stories of people surviving the disease by alternative means and the AMA will not even LOOK at the potential in these treatments.

As long as the medical machine continues to make big money on the misfortune and treatment of *any* disease there will never be an official cure.

My girlfriend went to Germany for Alternative Cancer Treatment four months ago. She had Ovarian Cancer. She passed away there about two weeks ago. She told me when she was going for her Chemo treatments in NJ that each one was $13,000.00! She told me there were three rooms for Chemo Treatments at the hospital. The room she would go in had about 30 people in it. The medium room had like 50 and the large room over 100. She said they were always full! Imagine the money being made off of cancer! Why would they want a cure? It is all a greedy scam..right down to the FDA and drug companies making billions! Doctors like sick patients...there wives need there new Mercedes every year or less! Well, I would say most of them!
