I was never a fan of Fawcett, and wasn't impressed with her look. I was instead attracted to Jacyln Smith from Angels. But Farrah represented simpler times, the 70s and early 80s. This was a time when my parents were together, when our entire family lived in the same town. It was a positive time for me, and this was reflected in the many theme songs of TV shows during that time. Shows like Charlie's Angels. I wasn't a fan, but there was always comfort knowing that Farrah was still out there somewhere, still an icon that represented that simpler, more innocent time. Very, very sad to discover that she had cancer, and I think it was tragic that this very positive figure's private battle with the disease was made so public. Lines should be drawn, and privacy should be respected. But hers was not, and as she aged and struggled to come to grips with her mortality, she actually grew far more attractive to me than when she was on the show. Courageous fight, and yet another life snuffed out too soon.
I've said this before, but 1 trillion dollars should've have been spent finding a cure for Cancer, rather than fighting an unnecessary war. Shame that people are being taken down like this. The War on Cancer must be declared and waged immediately.
