It is so sad Kung Fu was a part of my childhood and it is just terribly sad especially for his family and personal friends .

He didn't die on purpose.
He was engaging in an act of autoerotic asphyxia, also known in the fetish world as "breath play"; given his advanced age, experts speculate that he's probably been doing this for many, many years.

Kind of embarrassing for the family he left behind. I wonder if he was alone at the time or had a partner haul butt as soon as he accidentally died? Sad story either way.
