Natalyjones, thought Jamie Fox's charather was blind in his last movie? He is not the only actor that can sing. I think what happens to black actors in Hollywood they get type cast and there are few roles so people will take anything. On his TV show he also played a guys in the entertainment field so there we go again with the singing. I like Jamie and think he has a wide range of acting that we would be lucky to see.
No, he wasn't blind in The Soloist. He wasn't typecast in the Jamie Foxx show - the show was done that way because he was trying to start his music career. He would often sing on In Living Color if you remember that show.
As for black actors who can sing, I can't think of many good ones of the top of my head who can play the lead role in a movie.
