I think she is very talented and just doing what entertainers do. I thought she looked really cute and the dancers and show were very talented. I am not even a teenager!
no offense, but Miley was looking a bit skanky there in her extra short shorts. obviously, she doesn't need to come out in robes, however there are ways of dressing sexy w/o looking like a street walker! I'm not that old (25) and definitely remember being a teen (a rebellious, crazed teen who didn't know any better and was desperate to look and act like an adult) and even I thought she looked a little bit like a skank. I wouldn't let my 16yo daughter dress like that, especially at a national award show! also, there aren't many entertainers Miley's age dressing like that. kids love Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers and they have a far more "wholesome" image than Miley. Miley seems to be heading straight down the Britney Spears road, which may be a good thing or a bad thing

It's shame that these young starlets think that getting sexed up is the rite of passage to being a woman, or being a serious artist.

I liked it better back before TV, when singers weren't "watched" but were heard. You judged them by their talent, not their looks. I recall having my own ideas as to what the male singers looked like, and was often disappointed when I saw a pic of them.
I much prefer listening to the singing, without seeing the singers and all their gyrations, and the lights and other stuff! It took a lot less to entertain the youth in those days, and I am almost certain we were much more content. We also knew how to entertain ourselves, with out all the addition of all the stuff that is required now!
I am sorry, but I do not consider this "progress"!

I personally like Dakota Fanning, and I think her parents have kept her well grounded. Do you realize she is now 15 years old. We have watched her since she was 6 or 7. I have never seen her play an offensive role.

I believe it was the movie Hounddog that featured DF getting raped. not skanky, but it really threw off a lot of people and may have been the reason why it flopped so badly in the box office. otherwise, she seems squeaky clean too, at least for now

I saw the movie and I dont know what people got so worked up about. She showed no nudity and it didnt even really show a rape. It was suggested rape. Its not like a girl her age has never been raped before in real life so it seems natural that there would be a movie about it, not to glorify it in any case.

I saw that show with the Kardashians. And these are the women young girls are watching. There are two younger sisters in that family as well - nice role modeling from big sis'es.

I think the Miley thing was planned to be her outing as a sex symbol, the normal pattern for these young pop stars. Soon there will be some scandal... snooze....

Boy...the two little ones don't stand a chance. Kim left an example for those two on the video by making sex tapes. Any wonder why they are as screwed up?

Thought I’d seen it all.
Porn star prom dresses. Kiddie thongs. Little Miss Hooters. Pimp and ho Halloween costumes.
Beyonce’s pedophilia chic.
The 9-year-old and 11-year-old daughters of Bruce Jenner swinging on a stripper pole.
But no.
The Girls Gone Wild culture has sunk even lower.
There are now pole-dancing dolls and kiddie t-shirts with pasties.
Welcome to the Death of Innocence, Pt. 9,990,107.
