Isn't he gay? So he'd have to use a surrogate, regardless. And, what does it matter if he's unmarried? He's filthy rich, he doesn't need a spouses help.
Well Ricky is no where near as famous as MJ was/is. Not to mention Ricky sets off most people's gaydar so it isn't surprising that he would have a surrogate to birth his children. In addition it is 2009, over a decade later than MJ's first child so people have had more time to get used to the idea.
If you make a big deal about Ricky, you have to make a big deal about Clay Aiken, who also had a baby by a surrogate. So I guess the question could be posed as to why no one made a big deal about Clay being unmarried and having a baby by a surrogate, even if he is gay.
This is like comparing apples to oranges. It's not so much because MJ had a surragate it's more because he was such a strange person. (Did MJ even fathered his kids??)
I think Ricky is Bi, not gay. He actually admitted to it earlier this year, well sort off. He might have opted for a surragate because he coudln't have the kids with the woman he had a 14 year on-again, off-again relationship with: Rebecca de Alba. Anyway, whatever his reasons are he's doing a fine job and is devoting himself 100% to his kids. KUDDOS RICKY!!
All I know is Ricky Martin is a babe. His kids are adorable and there's nothing hotter than a guy who willingly chooses to have kids of his own without a mother. Alas, he's gay and I'm married, but it doesn't change the fact that single men who have babies are hot.
