Yeap, 3 years seems about right for me too. But I think she may have financial problems. I remember not too long ago maybe in the last year her home was going into foreclosure in GA. Actually, it was more than one property. If I find some links (it'll probably be later in the day) I'll post them. So I don't think her come back is for her especially since her voice sounds horrible. She has sang her entire life and knows better not to be able to hit notes. Celine, Mariah, and Christina Aguilera and still belt it out, so Whitney needs some time with a vocal coach to get it back and maybe some surgery.

Here are some reports regarding Whitney's foreclosures, I think she was having financial problems and that is why she is staging this comeback while her voice remains a bit beat up. Also, although one of the articles mentions one of the homes in Alpharetta, GA she also has an additional property there as well. But I believe they were all in some sort of trouble. The record company probably gave her some money to help cure up some of her debts IMHO.

If that is her voice and range now, I would like to see her be able to do some of her oldies. She still seems a little spun out to me.

She has definitely lost the fresh face and high notes she could hit of yester year. Some performers are like a fine aged wine and some just lose it.
Even the 'young' seem to have a shorter span of popularity these days. I think the record/entertainment industry is in the process of change.

lol--I happened to see 'Kiss' being interviewed about a tour. They seem to retain a fan base, which was surprising to me, having never been a fan.

My tastes in music have changed over the decades and even if I once greatly enjoyed an artist I can't get that excited about pop music at present.
