Lucky enough to see both Jeni and Kinison live. Both were hilarious, but Jeni is my favorite of the two. Never heard of Hicks, though.

I think the big difference between the three to me is that Jeni was still getting better, while Sam and Bill had already peaked when they paased on.

Sam got caught up in his fame, IMO, making some bad choices (e.g. music vids) while being overexposed. But there's little question at his peak, he was brilliant ("Move to the food!").

Hicks had already become a worse cranky old guy than latter years Carlin. But at least George had the excuse of being old.

Jeni, otoh, had just done "Grat Big Steaming Pile of Me", which was some of the most brilliant comedy of the past 20 years.

Loved Kinison and his style.

Gonna check out the other 2 as I'm no comedy buff,, but loved Carlin too.

Steven Wright is an odd one for sure, his humor and how he lives..A true Recluse. He lives in my state and grew up the next town over and know contractors that have worked where he currently lives and they all say the same thing. A recluse is the
perfect description..off topic but thought i'd share..

Speaking of comics my favorite is Lenny Clarke..

I'm not familiar with Jeni or Hicks but I liked Sam Kinison. Like some of the others have noted, a lot of his comedy was brilliant. In addition, he was just out there! With all that yelling he was just so different than anybody I had ever seen. He truly made me laugh...lol.

Here's one of my favorite Kinison clips. When I first saw this on The Tonight Show I laughed so hard my sides were hurting...lol.
