He moved to France because he didn't want his fame to hurt his kids. He wants to raise them in a calmer type of environment.
Though his girlfriend (not wife) is French and very famous there, her privacy has always been respected so they thought it would be easier for them there.
There's nothing wrong with wanting a quiet life, especially when you have young kids. Who may not eventually become silly spoilt brats like some of the celebrity kids in Hollywood...
